Sun Damage

If you are a regular sun bed offender, a sun worshipper, or just love an outdoors lifestyle, you will inevitably be susceptible to sun damage.

We advise all our patients to cover up with a good SPF every day, in order to protect the skin from further UVA and UVB damage. However, if you have sun damaged skin already, you may wish to seek further advice and treatment.

What is Sun Damaged Skin?

Appearing as dark spots, crepey skin and deeper pigmentation, sun damaged skin causes premature accelerated ageing and distress in many cases. Those who find themselves exposed to the sun without protection on a frequent basis are also more prone to the formation of cancerous and precancerous skin lesions.

Sun Damaged Skin Treatment

At the ASC, we are experts at sun damaged skin treatments and have an extensive range of treatment to deal with this condition. Looking after your skin with UV protectants, sun creams and anti-oxidants from the Obagi Nu Derm range is the first step but this can be augmented with a number of other sun damaged skin treatments including, IPL photorejuvenation, microdermabrasion, laser resurfacing, Fraxel, HydraFacial and Obagi Blue Peel. Sun damage not only affects the quality of the skin but ultimately the skin laxity and Skin-tightening treatment using Thermage, Ultracel and INTRAcel may also be required.
