On the 19th – 21st October, the Palace Hotel in the historic city of Dubrovnik, in Croatia, played host to The Aesthetic Medicine Congress (TAMC) 2018. This prestigious congress was organised in association with the British College of Aesthetic Medicine, with the support of the Office of the President of the Republic of Croatia and under the auspices of the President of the Croatian Parliament, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia, the Dubrovnik-Neretva Region, the City of Dubrovnik, and the Croatian Medical Chamber.

The Aesthetic Medicine Congress

TAMC is a unique scientific congress featuring the latest clinical information, updates and practical education in the field of non-surgical aesthetic medicine. The congress featured three days of comprehensive lectures, covering all aspects of aesthetic medicine, practical workshops and masterclasses held by the leading aesthetic experts from KOLS from Croatia and the wider region, as well as special international guest speakers.

The congress featured lectures and workshops covering all topics of aesthetic medicine, including modules and panel discussions on topics such as dermal fillers in anti-aging and facial shaping, skin rejuvenation treatments, skin tightening treatments, laser skin aesthetics, lasers for thread veins/pigmentations, body contouring, facial assessments, management of complications, patient communications, building management and marketing, and a special focus on medical tourism.

Aesthetic Medicine Congress

The congress was truly a comprehensive yet concise event to get the low-down on everything going on within the industry. Notable keynote speakers included: Dr Tapan Patel, an aesthetic physician with more than 15 years’ clinical experience and listed as one of the Top 30 Anti-Ageing Experts; Dr Galyna Selezneva, a cosmetic beauty doctor who trained in one of the best clinics in the Untied States and is known by London’s elite and top press as the ‘Ice Queen’ (queen of fat freezing), and has been featured in the top UK publications as the go-to for perfecting the body; and Dr Ivana Nola, a specialist in dermatovenerology, a leading expert on new technologies related to beauty, anti-aging and dermatology.

Our very own Dr John Curran was invited to attend the congress. Dr Curran is an international, award-winning cosmetic doctor who has worked in medical aesthetics for the past twenty years. He felt right at home at the congress, surrounded by over 200 delegates, all of whom share his passion for aesthetic medicine. Taking place in the beautiful, historic city of Dubrovnik, the congress gave attendees the chance to be informed, to network and further their businesses, as well as enjoy a blissful weekend in stunning Croatia.
