In today’s society, we can’t go about our day to day business without seeing or hearing about some form of celebrity gossip. It’s fair to say that our lives are influenced by the likes of Kim Kardashian and other famous faces. It’s all about Instagram posts, hashtags, beauty bloggers and the next biggest trends, but for the world of cosmetic surgery, does the same influence follow?

When it comes to cosmetic enhancement, are you looking to follow in the footsteps of some of our much-loved stars? How much influence do they really have on our choice of cosmetic treatments and our demand to be perfect?

The Power of Celebs

Years ago, it wasn’t uncommon for a person looking for a specific cosmetic treatment to bring along a photo of a celebrity, asking the surgeon to replicate the nose, eyes, lips etc.  With these people having a certain power in the public eye, it’s hard for us to not take at least some notice.

Magazines, TV, scrolling through Facebook, even on the radio, our media is flooded with images of glamour and ways of how to recreate the look.

Gossip Corner

While we all believe celebs all go under the knife- they can’t have a bum that perfect, right? Believe it or not, some well-known faces haven’t. They havebeen pounding the gym, investing in some crazy skin care routine or even paid some of their celebrity bucks for a personal trainer.

Take Kim K for example- she’s adamant her bottom is au natural- she even provided the scans to the public!

TV Influence

Shows such as The Only Way is Essex are making cosmetic treatments much more acceptable. You can’t deny that the cast look absolutely fabulous. It’s obvious they take great care in their appearance.

While it’s not hard to notice their certain aesthetic, it’s in a good way. They are in the public eye for a reason, and they have made names for themselves in the beauty industry for representing all types of looks and being confident in their beauty practices.  They even brought the Vajazzle into our lives.

The Influence

As more celebrities are opting for a cosmetic tweak, it is becoming a bigger part of ‘the norm’ and with celebs being much more open and honest about it, it makes people feel much more confident. Just two of the many stars which have openly discussed their treatments include Courtney Cox and Iggy Azalea, and good on them for challenging this. Who says you shouldn’t be open and confident about having a cosmetic treatment

Lip Fillers in Guernsey

Lip Fillers are a big thing when it comes to cosmetic treatments, as many famous faces have the perfect pout we all admire. Back in 2015, Kylie Jenner confessed to undergoing a lip filler procedure, which sparked a whopping 70% increase in this treatment and now, as we reach 2018, treatments such as Botox and Lip Fillers account for nine out of ten procedures.
