Obagi Blue Radiance Skin Peel in Guernsey & Jersey
Focusing on treating common skin concerns, such as mild acne scarring, photo damage and melasma, the Obagi Blue Radiance peel successfully exfoliates the superficial layers of skin that have been damaged. It leaves your skin feeling fresh, revived and radiant.
We apply a small amount of the peel solution on a patch of skin before proceeding with treatment. After removing all makeup and sweeping hair out of the treated area with a headband, we recline patients back until they are comfortable and happy with their position. Covering the corners of the eyes and lips with petroleum jelly or moisturiser, we can protect these delicate areas that may be sensitive to the peel. Additional protection is provided to the eyes in the form of gauze.
Step 1: The Blue Radiance Peel preparation solution is applied to clean, dry skin, allowing the skin to dry completely.
Step 2: The first layer of the Blue Radiance Peel is applied systematically to achieve an even consistency and result. It is normal for patients to feel a mild tingling sensation while the peel solution is applied to the bare skin. The peel solution is left on for around 10-12 minutes after full application of the first layer.
Step 3: Depending on comfort, the patients ability to tolerate treatment and the clinical plan, we may apply an additional layer of peel solution to achieve the desired results.
For those who require a gentle, light peel, just the one layer is applied. For incremental desquamation of the stratum corneum is required, a second layer of the peel is applied.
Second layers are only applied if, after 30-60 seconds, the skin has tolerated the initial layer.
If significant reactions, such as stinging, strong discomfort, erythema or burning is felt after the first 3-5 minutes, we do not add any further layers of solution.
Step 4: Cleansing the skin and removing the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel with Obagi Nu-Derm Cleanser, we ensure all the solution is taken away with a sponge or gauze, and clean water.
Step 5: Our clinicians will then apply a non-chemical based sunscreen to protect the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays to prevent pigmentation and sun damage. We recommend Obagi Sun Shield Protection SPF 50.
