Why Do I Get Unwanted Hair?

Our bodies are completely covered in hair, but for many women, they are fine and very light so they are not particularly visible. However, for others, these hairs grow thick and dark on the face and body. This can be caused by hormone imbalances, medications, ethnicity and even pregnancy!

How Can it be Treated?

Thankfully, there is a treatment for this problem, so you needn’t live with unwanted hair. We offer a hair removal treatment using a Diode laser that kills off the hairs at the follicle, meaning that they won’t come back.

How Does it Work?

The Diode laser is pointed at the hairs, allowing it to penetrate into the skin and tissue. The laser energy is absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair follicle which is then gradually heated by this energy. This heat is too much for the hair follicle which becomes damaged – killing off the hair. The hair itself will fall out over the next 2-3 weeks, leaving smooth, hair-free skin.

What Can I Expect from the Treatment?

Before the laser is used, the hair that you want to get rid of will be shaved, and then you will put on some protective glasses which will shield your eyes during the treatment. The practitioner will then spread some gel onto the area and begin moving the laser over your skin. The procedure isn’t painful – you’ll just feel a little heat from the laser.

What Happens Next

The treated hairs should fall out over the next couple of weeks, but you will need to go back for follow-up treatments in order to get all the hairs that may have been dormant during your first procedure. With every treatment, you will notice the difference as the hairs become sparser until, eventually, you are hair free!
