Facial wrinkles and creases begin to appear as the underlying collagen and elastin fibres begin to break down and wear out. While this break down is part of the natural ageing process, it can also result from smoking, environmental damage and excessive facial expression.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments to reduce the appearance of lines and folds. The results you achieve will depend on the area of the face which is treated, how much movement there is in the treated area, the condition of the skin and the skill of the person performing the treatment. Restylane is the preferred product use d by the physicians at the Aesthetic Skin Clinic. It has an excellent safety profile and is approved by the FDA as a dermal filler. It is composed of Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid, a substance found naturally in the human body. It is fully biocompatible and degradable, and the risks are very low.
Is treatment safe?
Restylane is used because it does not contain any animal derivatives, so there is no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. No pre testing is required, but you should avoid aspirin and non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication prior to treatment
How does Restylane work?

The Hyaluronic acid in restylane gel is almost identical to that within the body. It will integrat e into the dermal tissue and attrac t and bin d w ater molecules to help maintain volume. Restylane is gradually degraded over time naturally .

Topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area. Local anaesthetic may also be used to numb the area at patient request .
