Surgery can be performed to change the shape of the tip, narrow the nostrils and change the angle of the nose. The operation can make the nose smaller or bigger, alter defects from birth, repair deformities from injury and improve breathing problems.

Surgery to the nose is performed under general anaesthetic and usually involves a small incision under the nose between the nostrils. The main complication with this surgery is the patient not being happy with the end appearance, but this disappointment is minimised by enhanced imagery being used at the time of consultation to visualise post operative images.
