Plastic Surgery: Facelift

We offer an extensive after care package and follow up service, with trained nurses who have considerable experience in surgical nursing and a qualified doctor is always available should you experience any complications following surgery.

There are many different facelift techniques, all are aimed at lifting sagging skin and jowls around the face and neck, but will not improve the quality and appearance of the skin, or superficial lines and wrinkles. All facelifts are performed under general anaesthetic and involve a one night stay in hospital. Skin peeling can be performed at the same time to remove fine lines and improve the quality of the skin.

Following surgery sutures are removed at 5 and 10 days, but bruising can remain for up to 3 weeks. Complications can occur and include nerve injury, asymmetry, prolonged swelling, lumpiness and keloid scaring.

During consultation enhanced photography is used to visualise post operative images. Second consultations are always included to ensure all questions have been answered, and a specialist nurse practitioner will provide unlimited aftercare following procedure.
