Breast Augmentation can be performed to lift and enlarge the breast, correct size irregularities and alter the shape of the breast. It can be performed by an axillary incision, nipple incision or submammary incision which is still the incision of choice. The implant can either be round or tear dropped in shape, and can be placed in front of the muscle or behind the muscle. Your surgeon will decide which is the best surgical approach following consultation. A second consultation is always arranged to discuss sizing and answer any further questions.

The end results depend upon how much scar tissue you form around the prosthesis.

The surgery can be done as a day case, but usually involves an overnight stay in hospital. Wound healing takes 2 to 6 weeks, and it is important to wear a sports bra for the first three months following surgery.
